Getting selected for a course in one of the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) is the first priority for most of the brilliant students. At present there are fifteen IITs,  located in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar and Roorkee. These IITs have excellent infrastructural facilities adequate to provide world class educational platforms. It is no wonder that the engineers and scientists produced by IITs are in great demand in India and abroad.
Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU) Varanasi and Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad are two premier institutions in India and they deserve to be treated at par with the IITs.
The admissions to the Undergraduate Programmes at the IITs, IT-BHU Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). If you are genuinely interested in science and technology, you should definitely aspire for admission to a course of your interest in one of these institutions. Here are some of the  JEE sites:
